Okay, so there's tornado activity and horrific weather in Baton Rouge and south-east LA tonight, thus all the cancellations. The prop planes (hoppers) that I've been scheduled and rescheduled on this afternoon can't make it through that kind of storm . . . but the big passenger planes that service New Orleans can! So here I am at the third terminal of the airport--this one's a little more "shoppy" and has that vibe of "big spenders get routed through this terminal, and look at our giant metal sculptures!" Might snag some snackage up at the Cantina Laredo I can see from my seat here in the corner.
So I'm headed to New Orleans tonight if I can make it. Little nervous about trying to land in a tornado. I hear it's peaceful in the eye.
If I can't make it out on this flight, then it's a hotel here in Dallas and then out on the early flight tomorrow.
Sadly, there seem to be a serious lack of power outlets in the airport, and I have no means to contact the car rental agency, the hotel, or anyone else about the plans--I just got my cell phone this morning and I've been trying to charge it up between stops and as I can find available outlets. The best I can hope for is that the car rental place received notification that the original flight was cancelled and that they can pull my rental records in New Orleans and commute the lease request.
OH!! Open power outlet . . . have to grab it so I can charge up my phone!!!
