Silly me, I was actually worried I would have to find something to do tonight.
Today I'm traveling from DC to Baton Rouge via Dallas/Ft. Worth and thanks to a nasty weather system moving through the LA area dropping tornadoes like flies on a pecan pie I'm stuck in Dallas. Flights have been running late because they've been routed around the storm system, my connection was cancelled, and currently I'm officially booked for a 7am flight out first thing tomorrow but I'm hanging out in the B terminal in the hopes that I'll catch a stand-by seat on the 0845 this evening. Keeping my fingers crossed.
They've got the AC cranked up and I've done about 2 laps around the terminal just to shake out the kinks and keep the circulation going. Still fighting some stomach/gut issues from the on-going Bleh that hit my system 2 weeks ago, so tonight's dinner is a non-yogurt smoothie from UFood . . . I had a bee pollen (whatever that does) and a protein booster added to them . . . it tastes like that pink antibiotic liquid medicine we have to take as kids. I should have asked what the protein booster was--didn't think it might have been powdered whey protein until I drank about 1/2 of it (despite the weird taste). Keeping a few other fingers crossed it doesn't make my tummy mad.
So here's what's going on in Terminal B this afternoon:
There were several teams of army grunts/personnel flying out on various flights today--no idea where they were all going, but there were a few tasty sights in the bunch. Synchronicity: found a scrap of paper reminding me about Robert Giles from AL a few days ago--last known to leave for Dallas/Ft. Worth around 1998 for Army training or something. (sigh)--he was gorgeous. Didn't expect to see him, of course, but I wonder now what he's up to, if he's still in the area or went back to AL . . . if he's still in the Army and married with 2.3 kids now. If he still wears the silver hoop that makes him look like a black-haired pirate off the cover of a romance novel. lol! You know how it goes--I probably couldn't pick him out of a line up now, or he's no longer attractive to me--chemistry (even one-sided) is fickle sometimes.
There's an older gentleman sitting off to my right talking on his cell . . he's overweight and giggles into the phone every few moments.
The sports channel is tuned to a basketball game and cranked up almost as loud as the intercom . . . which just announced my last chance to get to Baton Rouge tonight via stand-by has been cancelled. Erg. Guess it's time to look into a hotel for the night and try again in the morning.
