DW Memories 2008 (day two, part 3)

Aug 11 2008

I think of this post as The Demystification of Woman

Throughout my life, most of my friends and acquaintances have been men. I'm not sure why, except maybe that I was the kind of kid who didn't have the patience for playing 'house' (too boooorrrring) and would rather have run around playing soccer or falling out of trees, so it just kind of came about that I'm more comfortable hanging with the guys than playing Barbie.

Which ever gender group I'm socializing with, however, I've noticed that both men and women have some kind of "I have no idea how they do . . ." topic regarding the opposite gender. For my two male cousins (9 and 11), one of the more pressing female mysteries is how we do that 'head towel wrap thing' when we've got a head full of wet hair.

[Actually, if I had a quarter for every time a male friend, young or old, commented on that very topic, I'd have enough change to wash a load of said towels at the laundromat!]

I took it upon myself to provide a little insight to the strange capabilities of Woman after our afternoon swim session and taught both the boys how to do that Head Towel Wrap Thing. Daniel didn't quite get it so it stayed put longer than 3 seconds, but here you can see how impressed Tommy was with himself when he nailed it first try--dancing and personal theme song included.

And here is Daniel illustrating the preferred method of towel use in our family . . .
