Apartment Update:
Okay, so here is a recent photo of where I'm at with the apartment bedroom. Not as far along as I thought I would be by now, but had some art stuff I wanted to finish up . . .which I have since abandoned; if you're going to work on a gift art thing for the past 7 months, you kind of want to make sure it'll be appreciated and valued, right? Recent drama leads me to believe I'm wasting my time, so it's been tabled until I decide what to do with it. Dang drama---sorry, but you invest your life and time into something, you don't want to see it all go down the crapper unless you're the one doing the flushing. Some day I may pretend to be a mature person and finish up the last final touches, but honestly, my heart just isn't in it right now. . . I digress. . .
Anywho, apartment stuff.
Right side of the room is cleaned down to plaster (not yet repaired), and although there is some damage, it's not as dire as I thought it would be. What's in the photo is not completely current--I've done a little bit more since then, but not so much as to warrant a new picture.
Tonight I pulled off two more corner guards and here are my thoughts when pulling off one of them:
1. Oh. Freaking. Crap.
2. This guard is made of two pieces--looks like Someone cut it short by accident and tried to fix it--I knew that, but I had no idea They'd use this many nails!!
3. LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO THE PLASTER CORNERS!!!!
4. OMG, and the biggest guard section is split at the top and bottom already! This is going to be the biggest [censored] pain EVER to clean off before I can fix this. WHO does this and then tries to cover it up with PAINT?! Grr. Major grr.
5. I wonder if the guys over at Henkle/Harris can mill me a copy using one of the other pieces as a template? Is that historically kosher?? Oh maaaaan.
6. This is going to take me an entire day just to rebuild the corner!!
7. Oh. Freaking. Crap.
