Do you ever stop to think about what you wanted to be when you grew up? And if you're not doing it, do you ask yourself 'what happened?'
This is not to say that our childhood dreams are too easily forgotten, but I think some part of that original desire stays with us and helps shape the adult we become.
The following is a complete list (in order) of the things I wanted to be when I grew up:
Veterinarian (I want to help animals!)
Small Animal Veterinarian (I want to help animals, but I want NO part of artificially inseminating a cow.)
School Teacher (I want to help kids and teach them stuff.)
Marine Biologist (I want to swim with the dolphins!)
Marine Biologist/Recreational Therapist (I want to swim with the dolphins and help kids!)
Sports Medicine Doctor (Kids are mean, but I want to help someone. Bio is cool, hockey players are way cute . . . hm.)
Artist (People are seriously messed up but kittens are still cute--hand me a sketch pad!)
So, how have my childhood dreams shaped the person I am today? Point me in the direction of a cute Bad Boy with a sculpted chest and tenderly holding an abused stray kitten or puppy, please! :)
