Somedays I dream of a world without Kitty.
No more Surprise Poo. No more litter tracked through the house by big kitty paws. No more unidentifiable dried globs of who-knows-what caked on my studio desk or just this side of the front door where I am sure to step in it as soon as I get home. No more insanely annoying monotone cries that occur with a frequency and pitch that could make my head explode a la Scanners. No more food bits somehow dropped 50 feet away from the food bowl. No more accidental bites or scratches because Kitty thought it was a good idea to sleep next to my feet. No more allergies.
And then, after I've reached the "I wonder where I will bury Kitty, get my knife" phase, I get a snuggle and a kiss. "Welcome home, I missed you."
Dammit.
